Signs you've got a blocked drain
- Sinks, showers or the bath draining slowly
- The toilet rising when you flush, or gurgling afterwards
- A sewage smell inside or near the outdoor gully
- The overflow gully in the yard spilling over
- More than one fixture blocked at once, which usually means the main sewer line
How we clear it
Most blockages come from grease and fat in kitchen lines, hair and soap in bathrooms, wipes in toilets, or tree roots in older sewer pipes. We match the fix to the cause, starting with the simplest option that works:
Plunger
For simple sink, basin and toilet blockages close to the fixture, a commercial plunger often clears it on the spot.
Drain snake
A motorised drain snake (electric eel) cuts through hair, wipes and built-up debris further down the line.
High-pressure jetting
Blasts grease, sludge and debris off the pipe walls, not just a hole through the middle.
CCTV camera inspection
We look inside the line to find roots, cracks or collapses, so nothing gets dug up for no reason.
Root cutting
A root-cutting jetter head clears roots out of the pipe and restores full flow.
From a recent job
Toilet kept blocking after plunging
A toilet cleared with a plunger came back a few days later. Our camera showed tree roots filling more than half the sewer pipe. We cut them out with a root-cutting jetter and the toilet has flowed freely since. We also flagged a cracked section so the owner could plan relining before it got worse.
Questions people ask
How much does it cost to clear a blocked drain?
It depends on where the blockage is and what's causing it. We'll tell you the price before we start.
Can you come out today?
Usually, yes. We're based in Panania, take emergency calls 24/7 and cover all of Sydney.
Will chemical drain cleaner fix it?
Rarely for long, and it can damage older pipes. If a drain blocks more than once, there's usually a cause further down the line worth finding.
